Bexar County's voter turnout for the midterms was lower than election officials expected, despite an increase in registered voters. The county saw a turnout of nearly 44% in Tuesday's election, down from almost 50% in 2018. Officials see 2018 as a bit of an outlier, when Texas Democrats were excited by Beto O'Rourke's challenge to Senator Ted Cruz, and were energized by their opposition to President Donald Trump. Since 2018, the number of registered voters in Bexar County has grown by about 125,000.
