Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and both Texas senators are calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to eliminate race-based college admissions. On Monday, the justices heard arguments in challenges to admissions processes used by Harvard and the University of North Carolina. Paxton filed an amicus brief last year arguing that Harvard's admission process discriminates against Asian Americans. Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn are among more than 80 U.S. senators and representatives who signed onto a brief in May that claims the practice violates the 14th Amendment and the Civil Rights Act.
