Dozens of Texas school districts are set to receive millions of federal dollars to improve campus security. The money will come from the Justice Department through the bipartisan gun safety law passed over the summer. Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn spearheaded the legislation. Grants totaling nearly eight-million-dollars will go to 28 Texas school districts statewide. Some of the state's biggest urban school districts, such as Austin, Houston, and Fort Worth, are included. Uvalde ISD will receive $442,000.
