Astros Top Yankees To Open ALCS

The Astros are now up 1-0 in the American League Championship Series after topping the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game One. Justin Verlander secured the victory for Houston after allowing one run over six innings with 11 strikeouts. Yuli Gurriel, Chas McCormick and Jeremy Pena each slugged a solo shot. Clarke Schmidt was tagged with the loss after allowing two runs over an inning of work. Harrison Bader and Anthony Rizzo went deep in defeat. The 'Stros will be looking to go up 2-0 on the Bronx Bombers when Framber Valdez gets the start against Luis Severino in Game Two.
