More than 2,000 local children are walking around in new shoes thanks to the Salvation Army. The nonprofit held its 41st annual shoe giveaway event on Saturday. Teachers and counselors invited families to the event who may not have new socks, shoes, and school supplies in the budget. All the shoes were donated and handed out by the organization's hundreds of volunteers.
