Officials with Big Bend National Park warns anyone thinking of visiting the park this holiday weekend to be prepared to make alternative camping plans. The park announced on social media it has had to close dirt roads and backcountry campsites because of the recent flooding in the area. Park officials advise to avoid all narrow canyons and drainages. The rain is forecast to continue through Labor Day but they say roads and campsites will reopen by Monday if conditions improve.
