Several news organizations are filing a lawsuit to compel Uvalde officials to release records of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. The lawsuit filed yesterday by publications including the Texas Tribune and NBC News accuses the City of Uvalde, the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office, and Uvalde C-I-S-D of withholding information that has been requested under the Texas Public Information Act. Among the records the news organizations are asking for include body camera footage, police reports, and 911 calls from the day of the shooting. The attorney for the plaintiffs says the "public is entitled to these records under Texas law," and the refusal to release them is only prolonging the "pain and grief of the tragedy."
