The Edwards Aquifer Authority is declaring Stage 4 water restrictions, but San Antonio isn't affected. The agency enacted the tougher restrictions on Saturday because of a further decrease of water levels in Comal Springs. Stage 4 requires Edwards Aquifer groundwater permit holders in Bexar, Comal, and several other counties to cut their annual pumping by 40%. The San Antonio Water System says its customers can remain under Stage 2 rules for now because SAWS relies on several different water supplies.
