GOP Asks TX Supreme Court To Remove 23 Libertarian Candidates From Ballot

Republican state officials and candidates are asking the Texas Supreme Court to take 23 Libertarian Party candidates off the November ballot. The GOP claims that they didn't collect enough petition signatures or pay the required filing fees. GOP candidates made the same move against 44 Libertarians in 2020, but the all-Republican state Supreme Court ruled that they'd waited too long, filing their challenge nearly a week after the candidates' eligibility deadline. This time, they filed their emergency Supreme Court petition on Monday, well in advance of the August 26th deadline.
