San Antonio Zoo Unveils Newest Train

There's now a second train running at the San Antonio Zoo. At a ribbon-cutting yesterday, Zoo officials unveiled the second locomotive they've added to the line in the past year. They say donations funded the addition, with Union Pacific contributing 300-thousand dollars. Valero Energy Corporation is donating fuel for the trains.

This is the second new locomotive introduced into the fleet within the last year, bringing its unique design onto the 2-mile track. The new diesel train was funded 100% by donations, with the lead naming gift of $300,000 from Union Pacific. In addition, each zoo train runs on fuel generously donated by Valero Energy Corporation and features more leg room, more seating space, improved sound systems, and ADA accessibility.

Plans call for a third new train, with a design officials say is different from the first two.
