The board of trustees for the Uvalde School District want Governor Greg Abbott to call a special session of the Texas legislature to raise the minimum age for buying an assault-style weapon. The action comes as the investigation into the mass shouting three months ago that left 21 people -- including 19 students -- dead. The shooter used an assault weapon during the shootings. During the board meeting last night, the trustees also approved a delay in the start to school this year -- from August 15th to September 6th -- so security enhancements for school buildings can be completed.
