The Northside Independent School District is only weeks away from the first day of school and it still needs to hire about 500 staffers to be ready. The district plans to hire everyone from police officers to teachers to bus drivers. District officials say the pandemic has been the biggest reason why they're still short on employees. The San Antonio Independent School District also faces a staff shortage, It still needs more than 100 teachers to be ready for school.
