The Federal Election Commission says a blogger who received funding from a Democratic congressman's campaign posted racist remarks about GOP Rep. Mayra Flores. Flores is the first Mexican-born woman to be elected to Congress, and is the opponent of U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez in the race for Texas' 34th District. Texas blogger Jerry McHale referred to Flores as "Miss Frijoles"" "Miss Enchiladas." The FEC says Gonzalez's campaign gave McHale 12-hundred-dollars last month for advertising services, plus another thousand last October.
