Texas is suing the Biden administration for telling the nation's doctors on Monday that federal law will protect them if they perform emergency abortions. The administration stated that federal law requires doctors to perform abortions when a medical emergency makes it necessary. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's office filed a federal suit on Thursday challenging the administration. Paxton says the administration's guidance violates the state's sovereign power to create and enforce its own legal code.
