The San Antonio Spurs have announced they have signed guard Blake Wesley. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not announced.
Wesley, 6-5/185, was selected with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft. He played one season at University Notre Dame where he led the Fighting Irish in scoring, averaging 14.4 points to go along with 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 35 games. The South Bend native scored in double figures 28 times in 2021-22 and a posted a team-high eight games with 20+ points to finish the season with the fourth-most points (504) by a freshman in Notre Dame history. As the only true freshmen in the country with at least 450 points, 100 rebounds, 75 assists, 50 three-pointers and 40 steals, the three-time ACC Rookie of the Week was named to the 2022 ACC All-Rookie Team, 2022 All-ACC Second Team and National CBSSports/USBWA Rookie of the week (1/10/22).
Wesley will play for the Spurs in the NBA 2K23 Summer League in Las Vegas from July 7-17 and will wear No. 14 for the Silver and Black.
