Framber Valdez tossed eight scoreless innings as the Astros beat the Mets 9-1 in New York. Valdez allowed only six hits and struck out five as he moved to 8-and-3 on the mound. Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker and Yuli Gurriel all went deep for Houston, which improved to 46-and-27. Alvarez had three hits and launched his 23rd homer of the season.
