The Mavericks might be needing to open their checkbooks in order to keep guard Jalen Brunson. NBA insider Marc Stein reports the New York Knicks are preparing to offer Brunson a four-year deal that could be worth over $100 million. Brunson is coming off a career season for Dallas after he averaged 16.3 points and 4.8 assists per game. The 25-year-old had expressed an early desire to stay with the Mavericks, but the Knicks are reportedly becoming a real threat to steal Brunson in free agency.
