Stage 3 water use restrictions from the Edwards Aquifer Authority are in place because of the drought's effect on the water level. Water utilities like the San Antonio Water Service are reduced by 35-percent of their authorized amount. On the other hand, SAWS customers are still under Stage 2 restrictions, limited to watering their lawns once a week. SAWS has diversified its water sources, and has enough supply to make up for the Stage 3 restrictions.
