Justin Verlander tossed another gem as the Astros beat the Mariners 4-1 in Houston. The 39-year-old gave up just one run and struck out 12 in seven innings to improve to 7-and-2. Jeremy Pena gave Houston the lead for good with and RBI single in the fourth, and Yordan Alvarez launched a two-run home run in the eighth to break the game open. Houston has won two of three and sends right-hander Jose Urquidy to the mound this afternoon.
