Tesla CEO Elon Musk reportedly plans to cut jobs from the Austin-based electric automaker's global workforce and enact a hiring freeze. In an email to company executives last Thursday, Musk said he plans to cut the company's workforce by ten-percent because he's pessimistic about the economy. Musk followed up with another email on Friday clarifying that the job cuts would only affect salaried workers, not hourly employees. He said the numbers of people "actually building cars, battery packs or installing solar" will be increased.
