The Texas Department of Transportation is working with police departments statewide to try to get Texas drivers to slow down. TxDOT's Operation Slowdown will run from June 7th to the 21st. During those two-weeks, officers will be looking for leadfooted drivers and writing tickets. TxDOT says a third of traffic deaths in Texas are speed-related. The focus on speed is part of TxDOT's #EndTheStreakTX campaign. There hasn't been a day without traffic deaths in Texas since November 7th, 2000.
