Guns will be banned when former President Donald Trump speaks at the National Rifle Association's annual convention in Houston today. The Secret Service will control the hall during Trump's speech and won't permit anyone in the audience to have firearms or knives, or other potentially dangerous items. Some high-profile people are pulling out of the NRA convention after Tuesday's deadly mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas including Republican Senator John Cornyn and GOP Congressman Dan Crenshaw of Texas. Governor Greg Abbott will deliver pre-recorded remarks after scrapping his planned appearance. Singer Don McLean said "it would be disrespectful" to perform in the aftermath of the shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers.
