Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton cruised to victory in yesterday's G-O-P primary runoff. Paxton defeated State Land Commissioner George P. Bush with about two-thirds of the vote, putting him one step closer to a third term in office. The incumbent A-G touted the endorsement of several high-profile Republican leaders, including Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and former president Donald Trump. Paxton's opponent in the general election will be Rochelle Garza, a former attorney, who won the runoff for the Democrats.
