The Republican primary runoffs for Texas House seats are running some high-dollar campaigns. Campaign finance reports show that three of the four incumbents who ended up in runoffs each raised about $500,000 in less than three-months. Some of the open-seat runoffs also have candidates pulling in six-figures in contributions. Since redistricting reduced the number of competitive seats in the general election, the state GOP has fewer races to worry about in November. Party factions are free to concentrate on the primaries.
