Former Vice President Mike Pence says U.S. energy policy should aim for energy independence again. Speaking at Rice University's Baker Institute on Tuesday, Pence said the government needs to "unleash American energy now." He said it only took a year for the Biden administration to turn a surplus of American oil and gas into a shortage, with much higher prices at the pump. In a presentation titled "Advancing American Energy Security and Independence," Pence said Biden's actions are motivated by environmental extremism.
