Experts: Sanctions Against Russia Are Good For Texas Economy

The Texas economy may benefit from increased U.S. sanctions on Russia because the higher price of oil could boost the state's energy production. Three economics experts testified Wednesday before the Texas House Committee on International Relations and Economic Development. They said the increased price of oil from the Permian Basin in West Texas will likely bring in more state tax revenue than originally estimated. More purchases of oilfield equipment will probably mean more sales tax collections as well.
