CBP Head Says Migrant Charter Buses To Washington, DC Make Job Harder

The head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection is not happy with Governor Greg Abbott's plan to bus migrants captured in Texas to Washington, D.C. In a statement yesterday, Commissioner Chris Magnus said the governor's actions are making the agency's job more difficult because the state is not coordinating the moves with the federal government. Magnus said the CBP needs a close partnership with other government stakeholders since the migrants are permitted to travel while they await the outcome of their immigration proceedings. The Texas Tribune reports the first charter bus arrived in D.C. on Wednesday, and most of the migrants onboard left to stay with family in the area.
