Facebook's parent company is planning to build an $800 million data center in central Texas. Meta Platforms says construction on the 900-thousand-square-foot data center in Temple should start this spring. The company say the center will employ 100 people when it opens in 2024. Meta Platforms is the parent company of Facebook, Meta Quest, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Temple is about 70-miles north of Austin on I-35.
