Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is defending himself following reports he is using taxpayer money to fund his defense against several misconduct complaints following his attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Paxton claims he was acting in his official capacity as A.G. when he filed a lawsuit asking the U.S. Supreme Court to nullify the results of the 2020 presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. The Houston Chronicle reports Paxton's lawyers have billed the state at least 45-thousand dollars to defend him from three complaints stemming from the lawsuit that could put his private law license in jeopardy. Two of the complaints say Paxton's actions were "frivolous."
