Dozens of local organizations are interested in getting a piece of the $327 million the city is receiving from the American Rescue Plan Act. San Antonio City Council is sorting out what to do with $88 million earmarked for areas such as arts, seniors, mental health, and small businesses. The council has divvied the money into the separate categories, but subcommittees will decide the details about how to distribute it. That task is expected to be done by the end of the year. Meanwhile, the city has received more than $345 million worth of unsolicited funding requests from different community groups.
