State investigators say there is no evidence of sexual abuse or trafficking at a shelter in Bastrop. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the investigation into The Refuge Ranch started with allegations of child sex trafficking and abuse, but those reports were not properly verified. DPS says authorities are still investigating a former staff member at the Ranch that allegedly sold nude photos of two girls staying at the shelter, and they also detailed an incident last month where two residents left the facility. According to the agency, four employees were fired following the escape.
