A local economics professor says inflation could damage San Antonio's tourist industry, which is just recovering from the pandemic. The Labor Department is reporting an inflation rate of nearly eight-percent as of February, the highest in 40-years. That includes travel-related areas such as dining out, airfare, hotels and motels, and especially gasoline. David Macpherson of Trinity University says these price increases could hurt San Antonio's tourism, one of the city's biggest industries. So far, spring break hotel reservations are still solid.
