A San Antonio man accused of murdering two women will face the death penalty when he goes to trial later this year. Jose Flores is charged with the capital murders of Heather Willms in 2005 and Esmeralda Herrera in 2011. Flores was questioned about Willms's murder but not arrested. He was charged with Herrera's murder, but charges were dropped for lack of evidence. Both cases were reopened in 2015, and Flores was arrested in 2016. Prosecutors will seek the death penalty when Flores goes on trial for Herrera's murder in September.
