Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is appealing the temporary restraining order that blocks the state from investigating the family of a transgender teenager. Paxton filed the appeal Thursday after a Travis County judge granted the restraining order for the parents of a teen who received gender-affirming care. The appeal postpones a hearing set for next Friday where that judge would have considered a statewide injunction on all investigations into gender transition procedures for minors as child abuse. Earlier this week, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said his office is "evaluating the tools at their disposal" to oppose the investigations.
