Texas Judge Issues Temporary Block Of Trans Child Care Investigations

A Travis County judge is blocking the State from investigating parents of a transgender teenager who received gender-affirming care. District Judge Amy Clark Meachum has granted a temporary restraining order that prohibits the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services from launching an investigation into a state employee, her husband, and their 16-year-old transgender child. The temporary hold is part of a lawsuit brought forth by the ACLU following Governor Abbott's directive to investigate gender transition procedures for minors as child abuse. President Biden also blasted the governor's order yesterday, calling it "government overreach at its worst."
