Bipartisan Group Of Texas Lawmakers Urge Divestment From Russia

A bipartisan group of Texas lawmakers is calling on the state to divest from Russia. Twenty-three state senators have sent a letter to Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick asking him to start the process of withdrawing the state from Russian investments. The letter says the Russian invasion on Ukraine is not only a risk to world stability, but could also lead to the loss of state funds invested in the country's equities. The state senators propose requiring all Texas companies to divest their positions in Russia within 90 days.
