Emmy Award-winning actor, author, director and producer Henry Winkler will headline The Salvation Army’s 2022 Annual Dinner on Saturday, May 14 at the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country. Tickets and tables are on sale now!

“An Evening With Henry Winkler,” sponsored by Ancira, marks a celebration of The Salvation Army’s 133rd year in San Antonio, and is the organization’s second largest annual fund-raiser, behind the annual Red Kettle Campaign. All money raised supports our programs benefiting local families in need.

“Since Red Kettles were down this past Christmas season, this event is critical to help us make up some of that shortfall,” Public Relations Manager Brad Mayhar said. “This year’s event is also in a smaller venue than previous years. The room seats just under 300, so those who attend will have an up-close seat to hear Mr. Winkler speak.”

Henry Winkler, best known for his role as “The Fonz” on Happy Days, currently co-stars as acting teacher Gene Cousineau on the hit HBO dark comedy Barry, alongside Bill Hader. The role garnered him an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy in September 2018. The series concluded its second season in March 2019, and will return for a third in 2022. The fourth season is expected to begin production this spring.

Winkler has enjoyed over four decades of success in Hollywood and continues to be in demand as an actor, producer and director. In recent years, Winkler appeared in a number of series, including Arrested Development, Children’s Hospital, Royal Pains, New Girl and Parks and Recreation. He also starred and co-executive produced the NBC Reality travel series Better Late Than Never with William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye and served as an executive producer of the MacGyver series on CBS.

On the big screen, Winkler starred in Night Shift, Here Comes the Boom, The Waterboy, Click, The Lords of Flatbush, Heroes, Holes, and Scream.

Winkler is also a New York Times best-selling author of more than 35 children’s books. His first book, Niagara Falls, or Does It? Hank Zipzer the World’s Greatest Under-Achiever, became a bestseller. The books were inspired by Winkler’s struggle throughout his education due to his learning challenges.
