Texas Senator Ted Cruz says he will no longer block President Biden's appointees to the State Department following the administration's sanctions against a Russian gas pipeline. The Biden Administration imposed sanctions on Nord Stream Two yesterday in response to Russia's actions in Ukraine, which Cruz called the "right decision." The Republican started his blockade of State Department nominees last year after the president decided to drop the sanctions in order to maintain a good relationship with Germany, which would have been supplied natural gas from the pipeline. Cruz warned allowing Nord Stream Two to come online wound create "cascading and acute security crises," and said he wants the sanctions to become permanent.
