Federal and local officials are investigating the death of a skydiving instructor in an accident near Waller over the weekend. The instructor and a student were making a tandem jump early Saturday afternoon when their parachute failed to open. Both survived the fall, but the instructor later died at a local trauma center. The female student suffered injuries that are considered non-life-threatening. Their names haven't been released. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Waller County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
