Thousands may be unable to vote in the Texas primaries because of an issue caused by Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick's re-election campaign. According to the Texas Tribune, Patrick sent out mail to Republican voters across the state instructing them to send a request for an absentee ballot to the Texas Secretary of State's Office instead of local election officials. However, the requests cannot be accepted by the Secretary of State, and they are now being sent to the local offices where they should have gone in the first place. With the deadline to correct a defective mail-in application set for today, those voters are at risk of being denied a ballot this primary.
