The trial date is still unknown for the man accused of shooting and killing 23 people at an El Paso Walmart in 2019. KFOX reports federal prosecutors and the defense team for Patrick Crusius deliberated for more than an hour in court yesterday, but a date was not decided. The prosecutors want to start the trial by June 2023, but Crusius' lawyers do not want to begin until 2025 at the earliest. Defense attorney Joe Spencer claims scheduling the trial before then would deny Crusius due process because his team still has go through a million files and almost eight-hundred gigabytes of video. The judge in the case is expected to announce when the trial will be held by the end of the year.
