Texas is using leftover federal building materials to construct the state's border wall. The Biden administration put a stop to the construction of the border wall started by former President Trump, leaving hundreds of wall panels at construction sites. About 1,700 of the unused panels, which were declared surplus property by the federal government, have been shipped from San Diego to become part of Gov. Greg Abbott's state-funded wall. The Texas Facilities Commission applied in November to receive the 32-foot-tall panels.
