A San Antonio woman and her boyfriend are in custody after police say they abused a five-year-old girl until she died. Officers arrested 22-year-old Katrina Mendoza and 25-year-old Jose Ruiz on Thursday. On Monday of this week, Mendoza took her daughter to a local hospital with injuries all over her body. The girl later died. Detectives say they found evidence that Mendoza had injured the child. She and Ruiz are both charged with one count of injury to a child - serious bodily injury. Ruiz also faces other charges from separate incidents.
