The Texans are naming their new head coach. Houston announced Monday that is has promoted Lovie Smith to the role of head coach. Smith served as the team's defensive coordinator and associate head coach last season. His last head coaching role in the NFL came in 2014-to-2015 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith replaces David Culley, who was fired in January after one season at the helm. The Texans also announced Pep Hamilton will take over as the team's new offensive coordinator.
