A driver and 16 illegal immigrants are in custody after a citizen spotted people hiding in the bed of a pickup truck in Kerrville. Kerr County deputies and state troopers stopped the truck on I-10 near mile marker 505 last Friday. Deputies found 16 people hiding under blankets and cardboard, and even in a toolbox. They arrested a dozen adults, four kids, and the driver, 22-year-old Misael Hernandez. All of them were non-citizens who were in the country illegally, including Hernandez, who's charged with 16 counts of human smuggling. The 16 illegals were handed over to Border Patrol.
