A sea turtle rescue group on South Padre Island says it was busy during the recent cold snap. Officials with Sea Turtle Incorporated say the group rescued more than five-dozen turtles in the Laguna Madre area as of Saturday. The group was aided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Coast Guard, SpaceX and local boat owners who helped patrol Laguna Madre Bay looking for turtles stunned by the cold. Anyone who sees a stranded sea turtle is urged to call the organization at 956-243-4361.
