The Texas Rangers are investigating after a New Braunfels police officer shot and wounded a man attacking the police with a sword. Officers responded about 5 a.m. Sunday to a report of disturbances involving a suspicious person on Redbud Lane. They say 30-year-old Jacob Burzynski came out of a home and swung a sword at the officer, who shot him. Burzynski is hospitalized in stable condition, and is charged with aggravated assault of a peace officer. The officer wasn't hurt. He's been placed on administrative leave.
