Austin Water is issuing a precautionary boil notice for all customers. This means that any water used from plumbing systems should be boiled before cooking or drinking according to the city's guidelines. The Ullrich Water Treatment Plant is currently closed due to an issue with the treatment process that causes the water to appear murky. Austin Mayor Steve Adler assured residents that the event poses very little public heath risk, and the problem will be resolved 'in a couple of days.' Austin Water will hold water distribution events at various sites around the city with more expected to open Sunday.
