State officials say the Texas labor market now has more jobs than when the pandemic first arrived. The Texas Workforce Commission says there were just over 13-million nonagricultural jobs in the state at the end of 2021. That's nearly 90,000 more jobs than in February 2020. The state's unemployment rate fell to five-percent in December. It was just under four-percent in February 2020, and hit nearly 13% during pandemic shutdowns. The economy in Texas is rebounding faster than the rest of the country.
