Storm cleanup is now underway in the Northeast. Much of coastal New England is under a deep blanket of snow with over two feet in some areas. Officials with the Department of Transportation in Massachusetts say there are nearly two thousand pieces of equipment working to clear highways this morning. The powerful storm system is tracking across northeastern Maine and into Nova Scotia.
Thousands of flights are already being canceled today as the East Coast begins digging out from an intense winter snow storm. FlightAware reports over 23-hundred flights within, into or out of the U.S. have been canceled, and over 500 have been delayed. LaGuardia Airport in New York and Logan International in Boston have already cancelled just under fifty-percent of their flights.
